5 Effective Ways to Prevent Blogger Burnout

Blogger burnout is the worst. Have you ever felt totally overwhelmed and ready to just throw in the towel? If the answer is yes, you’re not the only one! A lot of bloggers experience blogger burnout…including me. In this post I’ll be sharing five simple ways to prevent blogger burnout so you can get excited about your blog again!

Creating a schedule is the perfect way to prevent blogger burnout! With that being said, creating and sticking to a schedule is something I have struggled with. I actually experienced blogger burnout recently, which inspired me to write this post. 

I bought a planner specifically for my blog and I am currently working on setting that up. One of my biggest problems is getting too overwhelmed. I want to do twenty things at a time and I am not capable of doing that. Learning how to plan and organize is going to be a task, but it will save me hours in the long run!

Once I get my blog schedule figured out, I will write a post and share my tips!


This is so important! The easiest way to develop blogger burnout is by not making yourself a priority. 

Schedule at least one day a week to take a blogging break. Your blog and your audience will be there the next day and you will be refreshed and ready to get started again! 

Here are just a few fun things you can do on your blogging break!

  • Spend time with family or friends
  • Go on a hike
  • Read a book
  • Take a day trip 
  • Take a fitness class

I can’t express how helpful this is! Remove yourself from all distractions and focus on nothing but your blog related tasks for thirty minutes at a time. Set a timer and write to your hearts content, but take that break when the timer goes off!

Take a little five to ten minute break to stretch and get a drink or take a little snack break! You’ll be amazed at how much you will get done in a few hours! 


If you are constantly telling yourself that your blog isn’t going to be successful or your content isn’t good enough, you are setting yourself up for failure and burnout. 

Be kind to yourself. It’s OK to not know everything about blogging in the beginning. Learning how to blog is something that takes time and experience. Don’t beat yourself up. 


Sitting down once a week to plan out your content, social media posts and emails is essential for preventing blogger burnout. 

Scheduling your content ahead of time allows you to breathe a little easier during that time. Not having to worry about making sure you post everyday on your social media is priceless! 

Automation will save you hours each week and the stress that comes with trying to do everything last minute!
